- Resetting Thinkpad from menu in Windows 10
- Before you start the process of resetting, please check the status of Bitlocker. If Bitlocker is on, please turn it off first.
- To begin the reset process in Windows 10, open the Start Menu and then click the Settings button.
- Click on Update & Security, then select Recovery to advance to the next step.
- Choose Restart Now under the Advanced Startup heading to bring up a menu with several options.
- Select Troubleshoot from the menu, and then click Reset this PC.
- To remove applications, settings, and personal files after resetting the PC, click the Remove Everything button.
- There are two options for removing files: Just remove my files and Remove files and clean the drive
- Select Remove files and clean the drive, it is recommended for a PC that is going to be given away, recycled, or sold.
- After choosing the method for removing personal files, click the Reset button to begin reinstalling Windows.
- Resetting Thinkpad without password (Windows 10)
- During the startup process when the logo appears press F11, it will interrupt the normal start and brings you to a menu with several options.
- If F11 isn’t working, continuously press Enter during powering on until a Startup Interrupt Menu displays. Select there Recover your system.
